Sandra Ekpe Agho is a distinguished leader, global ambassador, and trailblazer for gender equality, inclusion, and sustainable development in the energy, oil, and gas sectors. With over 15 years of experience, Sandra has seamlessly combined technical expertise with visionary leadership to drive impactful change, solidifying her position as a leading figure in the global energy industry.
As the Managing Director, CEO, and majority owner of Noranova Resources Company Limited, Sandra heads one of Nigeria’s foremost indigenous oil and gas servicing companies. Under her strategic leadership, Noranova has partnered with industry giants such as Halliburton, Schlumberger, Weatherford, and BOTIL India, executing transformative projects across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Sandra’s career began with Baker Hughes as a Field Engineer, where she gained invaluable hands-on experience in energy operations across Nigeria and the United States. Over time, she progressed into leadership roles in sales and management, building an exceptional portfolio of operational expertise and strategic acumen. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Computer Science, Postgraduate and Master’s degrees in Petroleum Engineering, and ongoing work toward a PhD in Petroleum Engineering.
In November 2024, Sandra was appointed a United Nations Global Ambassador for the Gender Priority Strategy (GEPS), a testament to her commitment to driving gender equality and inclusion. She is a passionate advocate for closing gender gaps in education, leadership, and economic empowerment, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
As the Rivers State Chapter Chairperson for the International Forum for Women in Energy, Oil, and Gas (WEOG), Sandra leads initiatives to expand women’s participation in technical and managerial roles within the energy sector. Her innovative programs set the standard for diversity, equity, and inclusion in an industry historically dominated by men.
Beyond her corporate and advocacy achievements, Sandra founded two nonprofit organizations to drive social and economic transformation:
- NurtureHer STEM Development Initiative: Focused on empowering young girls in STEM, this initiative provides scholarships, mentorship, and training to bridge the gender gap and prepare the next generation of leaders and innovators.
- iBelieve Outreach Network: A faith-based organization committed to supporting underserved communities through material and spiritual outreach, including food drives, medical care, and empowerment programs.
