At NurturHer Development Initiative, we help girls learn and grow in fun and exciting ways through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). We focus on three main areas:

Outreach and Recruitment

School Partnerships: Collaborate with primary and secondary schools to identify and recruit girls who show interest or aptitude in STEM subjects.


Community Engagement: Host workshops, seminars, and community events to raise awareness about STEM opportunities and attract potential candidates.


Online Platforms: Utilize social media, educational websites, and online forums to reach out to girls and their families, providing information about the organization’s programs and initiatives.

Educational Programs

Primary School Programs: Develop engaging STEM curricula and extracurricular activities, such as science fairs and robotics clubs, to spark early interest in STEM.


Secondary School Programs: Implement specialized training programs, including advanced workshops, internships, and summer camps, to deepen knowledge and skills in STEM subjects.


Tertiary Education Support: Provide scholarships, grants, and academic support for girls pursuing STEM degrees at higher education institutions.

Mentorship and Networking

Mentorship Programs: Pair girls with mentors from the STEM industry who can offer guidance, advice, and support. Organize regular mentoring sessions and career counseling.

Industry Partnerships: Collaborate with trade unions, professional associations, and companies in the STEM sector to provide networking opportunities, internships, and job placements such as Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Women in Oil and Gas (WIOG), Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), etc.

Alumni Network: Create a network of past participants who can provide mentorship, share their experiences, and contribute to the community.

Awareness and Advocacy


 Public Campaigns: Launch awareness campaigns highlighting the achievements of women in STEM and promoting the benefits of pursuing STEM careers.


Workshops and Seminars
: Organize events featuring industry leaders, female role models, and STEM professionals to inspire and educate girls.


Collaborations: Partner with media outlets, educational institutions, and government agencies to advocate for gender equality in STEM and support the organization’s initiatives.

Program Evaluation and Improvement


Feedback Mechanisms: Collect feedback from participants, mentors, and partners to assess the effectiveness of programs and identify areas for improvement.


Impact Assessment: Conduct regular evaluations to measure the impact of the organization’s initiatives on participants’ academic performance, career advancement, and overall success.


Continuous Improvement:
Use evaluation data to refine and enhance programs, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of girls and align with industry trends.
